Program Development Milestones
  • In 2002, Patient Services was the first non-profit of its kind to receive a positive United States Department of Health and Human Service Office of Inspector General Opinion, specifically allowing Patient Services to assist Medicare patients with premium and copayment assistance without infringing upon enticement/inducement or fraud and abuse.

  • Patient Services lead the way in requesting a guidance publication from CMS allowing non-profits to satisfy "donut hole" expenses in June of 2004.
  • In 2004, PSI was instrumental in helping pharmaceutical companies bring the new Part D drugs to market in meeting the needs of Medicare Part D beneficiaries experiencing unaffordable out-of-pocket costs, known as TrOOP (True Out of Pocket). PSI provides a solution to meeting the challenges of Part D out of pockets costs for patients. As new Part D drugs come to market, PSI is there to help companies meet the challenges of patient assistance.
  • In 2008, PSI assisted a pharmaceutical company in bringing Hereditary Angioedema to market by helping them understand the patient assistance needs. As they were completing clinical trials, PSI was approached to help consult with the building of their comprehensive patient assistance program. We provided them with years of information and experiential patient need which helped them develop a top-notch patient assistance program and successful marketing strategy.
