Nathan Thomson is currently the Government Relations Associate at Patient Services Inc. He began serving in this capacity in March of 2019. Nathan started his career in government relations during his time at Radford University. As an upperclassman he was a RU Ambassador and represented the school at the capitol in Richmond.
Nathan is a native Richmonder, having grown up in the West End and attended the Center for Leadership, Government, and Global Economics at Douglas Freeman. Following high school he majored in Communications and minored in History at Radford University in southwest Virginia. While attending college, Nathan fell in love with the outdoors and he completed three internships with the Forest Service and the Bureau of Land Management. These positions gave him an opportunity to travel to Idaho and Alaska.
After graduating from Radford, Nathan continued his educational journey at Appalachian State in Boone, North Carolina. It was there that he focused his passion for policy and service into a Masters Degree in Political Science. His coursework focused on statistics and data management, cost-benefit analysis, and political research.
At PSI Nathan helps to represent patients on both the state and federal level. He enjoys working with various patient advocacy groups to increase access to healthcare for individuals with rare diseases and chronic illnesses. When he is not at work he enjoys fly fishing, live music, and reading. His favorite team is the Washington Redskins.
