MRI Financial Assistance Program for Young Women

At Risk for Breast Cancer

Right Action for Women (RAW),, founded by actress and breast cancer survivor Christina Applegate, is funding a financial assistance program to help young women who are at high risk for breast cancer gain access to Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) screening. Together with the Cancer Support Community (CSC), and Patient Services, Inc. (PSI), Right Action for Women has created a partnership to bring financial support to young women who are facing the risk of early breast cancer as a result of a genetic predisposition.

*Right Action for Women is a Charitable Services Fund of the Entertainment Industry Foundation, a 501 (c)(3) organization.

Who can apply?

If you have a family history of breast cancer or ovarian cancer, or have tested positive for a BRCA gene mutation, you are eligible to apply regardless of insurance status. Patients must have a referral from an approved medical care professional for an MRI screening. Income is limited to 200 percent of Federal Poverty Level (FPL). Approved assistance has a limit of up to $1,500 per MRI occurence during a 6 month time period. *

* This assistance is only for those patients that are undiagnosed or no longer have breast cancer and prescribed an MRI based upon a family history of breast cancer/ovarian cancer (V16.3) or BRCA positive indication (V84.01). If you have a current diagnosis of breast cancer or your MRI is not to screen for breast cancer, your test cannot be covered through PSI assistance in this program.
