(Midlothian, VA – July 18, 2018) – Patient Services, Inc. (PSI), the nation’s first non-profit patient assistance program, recently launched their new online video series aimed at educating PSI patients. You can watch the first episode here.
As previously written, the weekly series, which will release a new episode on the PSI You Tube channel every Wednesday at 11am eastern time, is called The PSI Patient Access Lounge.
Although it has only been a short time since the new series was launched, already, Patient Services Inc., is receiving positive feedback for their efforts to utilize new media channels to provide education for their patients and advocates.
PSI patient Jim was quick to respond to the Patient Access Lounge offering his sentiments in regard to the new weekly series stating, “Awesome!! Great idea!”
Kevin, another PSI patient also weighed in upon the launch of the first episode on July 11, 2018 with, “Thank you PSI team for this valuable and much needed tool.”
The show’s hosts are excited as well to further help their patients to understand their insurance coverage.
Amy, one of the show’s hosts, has a background in case management and is a PSI patient access specialist, compared health insurance to an umbrella stating,
“Health insurance is like an umbrella, even though you carry it with you for a rainy day, it’s useless if you open it up and it’s full of holes”
Amy hopes to provide viewers with a clearer understanding of health insurance and how to get the most out of their coverage.
She is not alone.
PSI Program Manager, Kristin Shifflett also echoes that same hope, “The world of insurance is filled with a lot of complicated terms and rules, and we hope that the Patient Access Lounge will make it just a little less confusing.”
But, it’s not just PSI team members and patients who are excited about the Patient Access Lounge, the Neuropathy Patient Assistance Foundation has also weighed in, “Such important questions to ask and address! Great job!
